Anthrophex – Update 8-10-17

Its been a ton of time since I last did any updates on the ol’ human sized hexapod! I finally decided to go for dedicated motor controller ICs (Allegro A4950) as opposed to a discrete solution. These chips were pretty expensive (~£27 for the entire board…) driven by an STM32F030 once again generating software PWM. […]

Swarmbots Update 1

So unfortunately, I’m still waiting on my batteries to arrive meaning I have to make do with some extra Li-Pos I happen to have lying around (…as you do). I gave a demonstration to one of my lecturers – soon to be my project supervisor over the summer, and he showed an interest in a minimal […]

HD44780 LCD with PWM LED Backlight control

And voila! As I said in one of the last two posts (Initial post: https://hsel.co.uk/2014/08/14/stm32f0-discovery-board-and-the-hd44780-lcd/ and integrating a charge pump for backlight control: https://hsel.co.uk/2014/08/14/stm32f0-discovery-board-with-hd44780-and-integrated-charge-pump/), I’ve now included a generic LED backlight PWM controller using one of the standard GPIO pins. I’m using GPIOA Pin 6 to drive the LED backlight and I’ve integrated a 4bit (16 step) backlight […]
